U.S. tells Britain to drop tax proposal on U.S. tech firms for trade deal – The Telegraph

(Reuters) – The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has advised Britain it won’t get a free trade deal except it drops a brand new tax proposal for main U.S. tech firms, the Telegraph newspaper reported late on Friday.

Britain had mentioned in October it will tax the revenues of firms corresponding to Alphabet Inc’s Google (GOOGL.O), Fb Inc (FB.O) and Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) to create a fairer tax system that had not saved tempo with altering digital enterprise fashions.

U.S. officers are demanding that Britain drops the brand new ‘Digital Companies Tax’ earlier than it turns into regulation in autumn, in accordance to the report.
